S's tale of two loans
S came to Savda Ghevra in 2006 taking an interest free loan from his friends to be able to secure the allotment slip post eviction. The kuccha structure he first made remained kuccha till 2012, when deteriorating and unsanitary conditions caused by raised road levels drove S to invest in improving the house. To do so he took a high-interest loan at 4% per month for an amount of 25000 rupees. This loan proves a challenge in S’s ability to consolidate the house further.
